Dialup Support Information
- Define a Connection
- Double-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop.
- Open the Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Double-click on Make New Connection.
- Enter Znet for the name of the connection.
- Click Next
- Enter the phone number of ZNet modem in your area: Click here for the list

Click Next; click Finish.
An icon should appear in the Dial-up Networking folder representing your new connection.
Configuring Connection
- Right click the icon that was just made - ZNet Connection.
- Click on Properties
- on the General Tab, uncheck 'Use Area Code and Dialing Properties' or in Windows 95, it may say 'Use Country Code and area code'
- click on the tab Server Types.
- uncheck all of the boxes on this page except for TCP/IP.

Now you're ready to connect. Here's how:
- Open the Dial-Up Networking folder (look under My Computer).
- Double-click the icon representing the defined connection.
- Enter your ZNet ID (i.e. smith999 or john9999) and password.
- Check the Save password box

Click Connect. Wait for the connection to be completed.

Hanging up
All good things must come to an end...
- Open the Dial-Up Networking folder.
- Double-click the icon representing the defined connection.
- Click Disconnect.
- Or - double click the modem icon next to the clock.
- Click Disconnect.

- Click Start - Settings - Control Panel
- Double click Dialup Networking
- Double click Make New Connection
- Type Znet for the name of the computer
- Click Next
- enter the phone number of your local access - Click here for the list
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- You should now have a Znet icon
- Right click the Znet icon, left click on Properties
- under the phone number, uncheck the box 'Use area code and Dialing properties.
- Click OK
- Click Start, Settings, Control Panel
In the Control Panel, double click Network and Dial up Connections - Double click Make New Connection
- this starts the Connection Wizard, Click Next
- Click in the circle 'Dial-up to the Internet'
- Click Next
- Click in the 3rd circle - I want to set up my Internet manually'
- Click Next
- Make sure the 1st circle is checked - I connect through a phone line and a modem
- Click Next
- Enter your local access number - Click here for the list
- Uncheck the box - Use area code and dialing rules
- Click Next
- Enter your username and password
- Click Next
- Dial up Name - Click Next
- Here it will ask you if you want to set up an Internet email account. Click No.
- Click Next
- Click Finish. When you click Finish, it will bring up the connection screen. Enter your username and password. Click Save Password.
- To connect, click Connect
There will be some differences between the Home Edition and the Professional Edition, but the steps are generally the same.
- Click Start
- Click Control Panel
- In the upper left corner, click 'Switch to Classic View' (not seen in the Home Edition)
- In the Control Panel - double click Internet Options
- Click the tab Connections
- make sure nothing is in the white box. If there is something there, left click it once and Click Remove.
- Click Setup, at the top
- This is the Connection wizard, Click Next
- make sure the dot is in the circle for 'Connect to the Internet'
- Click Next
- click in the circle 'I want to set up connection manually'
- click Next
- click in the circle 'I connect with a modem and phone line'
- it asks to to enter the name of your ISP - enter Znet
- Click Next
- enter the number of your local access - Click here for the list
- Click Next
- Enter your username and password. And confirm the password.
- Click Next
- The 3 boxes on this page can remain checked.
- Click Finish.
- Close the Control Panel

The setup has put a shortcut of the connection on your Desktop. To connect, double click the Znet icon on your desktop.
If you would like the computer to dial automatically:

Open the Control Panel

Double Click Internet Options

Click the Connections Tab

Click on the circle ' Always dial my Default Connection'

Click OK

Close the Control Panel
